Juma Emedi

Juma Emedi is a writer, director, producer, and an actor. Born and raised in a remote village in the Congo DRC. He was 14 years old when he found himself and his family in a refugee camp in Kenya because of a tragic incident that happened in his village. He lived in the camp for 5 years before he was given an opportunity to come to the United States. His family was given a TV for the very first time and Juma fell in love with the art of film. His first movie that he ever watched on TV is Avator.
Juma holds a graduate degree from American academy of dramatic arts. He co-wrote, directed and produced in 2022 short film, Ten whys, when a white cop confesses to murdering Forty-Five black men over the course of his career. A young black lawyer is tasked with finding out why, unveiling strange connections in both of their pasts. The film is currently doing rounds in the festival.
